WHAT YOU WILL NEED

To complete this application you will need to have the following documents:
  • A personal statement
  • A copy or a scan of the information page of your passport (the one with your picture on it)
  • A completed health statement available to download here: Health Statement
  • 2 referee letters. Template available to download here. A referee can be someone who has known you in a professional capacity. One reference can also be from someone who has known you in a non-professional capacity for more than 5 years.
  • 1 Photo
  • Current DBS Check (if you already have one)

You will also need to provide contact details for someone you would chose to be your emergency contact, should you be accepted onto the course.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Once your application has been received, you will be invited for an interview with the Course Leader, Dorothy Marlen, as a final step in the application process.

The interview provides both you and the Course Leader the opportunity to explore the course content, requirements and your motivations for attending.  It will also give you a space for any questions you might have.

Please give details and indications of how and where you may need support.

Supporting Documents

Please upload a personal statement in support of your application. This statement must be your own work and should be about 500 words. Use additional sheet if necessary. Please tell us:
- why this course is for you
- your interest in working with young children and/or their parents
- any previous or current connection with Steiner Waldorf education, Anthroposophy or the Pikler Approach.

For your placement, you will require an Enhanced DBS Check.
Your DBS must be dated within a year of the commencement of the course. If the form is dated prior to this date, or you do not have a form and you are employed, you will need to obtain the Enhanced DBS check from your employer.
Alternatively, the setting where you will do your placement can request your Enhanced DBS.
If you have problems, Emerson College can request it for you for the regular fee. Applicants are responsible for all the costs of this service.

Chosen Fee payment

Course fees can be paid upfront £3,150 or via a payment plan, paying £3,250 over 4 instalments. Please select how you would like to pay.

Means tested bursaries are available for this course on a first come - first served basis. If you wish to be considered for a bursary, please download the bursary template form:

If you cancel the course booking within 14 calendar days of receiving your acceptance confirmation, any payment made will be refunded in full, up until 60 days prior to the start of the course; thereafter there are no refunds.

Special consideration will be given in cases of illness confirmed by medical evidence.

Cancellations received after the 14-day cancellation period and earlier than 60 days before the start date of the course will receive a refund of any fees paid minus the Deposit. Thereafter there are no refunds.

There are no refunds for missed days or modules.

If you apply within 14 days of course start, any cancellation within 14 days of acceptance confirmation (provided that there has been no attendance or access to resources) will be entitled to a full refund, in line with Consumer Protection Legislation.
If the course has started within this 14 day notice period, you may be liable for those days attended.

If you have had a payment plan agreed by the course registrar, the above cancellation policy applies.

Should you leave prior to the end of the course, you agree to pay the balance of the full fees immediately.
